I thought it would be fun to share some beauty products and trends that are going to be on the rise for 2015! If you would like to see my recommendations and more, keep scrolling.
Pantone’s Color of the year is sure to be a hit, in lipsticks, haircolor, blush and more.
Straight from http://www.pantone.com : “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”
This Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio by Sephora + Pantone Universe is a great subtle way to wear it.
2. Green Hued Hair
In 2014 we were brave, we mimicked the lilac locks of Kelly Osbourne and we ventured into pastel pinks. A dark and adventurous green shade is popping up, and I feel its presence will be even stronger in 2015.
3. Fur Vests
I have had a fur vest sitting in the back of my closet for a few years. They have been in style for the last 2 years, but I haven’t seen anyone beyond a celebrity or total fashionista pull one out. When I did my boxing day shopping I saw them all over the place in different lengths and colors. I guess it’s time!
4. Glitz to the max
Sparkly eyeshadows. Crushed velvet dresses. If you know me you know I love shimmer, shine and drama – hence the name of my business. I predict a LOT of rich fabrics in 2015. Perhaps it is just because of the holiday season, but I am seeing glitter, sequins, crushed velvet and rose gold hues in hair, makeup, clothes and more. And I want it to stick around a little bit longer.
5. Bold Lips
I am a lipstick junkie. It seems as though I have found my go to though, as I am in LOVE with the pigmentation & staying power of Too Faced Melted lipstick. It is dynamite.
6. Delicate Lingerie
Ok. So this is more fashion for you, or him. But I am seeing the cutest little bralettes pop up everywhere and I want them all. I believe the brand For Love and Lemons does it best. How can you not feel like royalty wearing something like this? Available at http://www.nastygal.com
By now if you’re not contouring, you have fallen way behind. Celebrity Makeup Artist and pioneer Kevyn Aucoin was contouring back in 1994, long before that face chart of Kim Kardashian popped up everywhere. Somehow this is still my most requested technique to learn.
Smashbox has just made it foolproof with a “Step-by-Step Contour Stick Trio” set. I have seen so many powder palettes for contouring, but I feel as though cream based products can give better results in photography and more. Creams look more natural as they settle into the skin rather than sit on top. I have a feeling this trio will be a hit as it also includes a guide on how to contour based on your face shape.
I’ve already posted about these beautiful headbands on my facebook page, but I believe it’s worth including here. These Pink Pewter headbands are absolutely gorgeous, and I’m loving the chain style headbands that are trending as well.
9. Extreme nail art
I know stiletto nails are a preferred taste, I personally love them. I hope to see more of them in 2015 with bold designs such as the ones below.
10. Flash Tattoos
Relatively new, these jewelry inspired tattoos are popping up everywhere. I love them for a few reasons: 1) they are shiny and I love anything glitzy-see above and 2) some of their tattoos are in the designs of some trending permanent tattoos. i.e. the feather. I feel as though this is a great substitute for the real thing if you want something on your body just for the sake of it being trendy. 🙂 You can buy them at http://www.sephora.com
